The Brewer of Atesgol 🐉
Most of the year, Kryxivians live off trade. They sell everyday goods, weapons, and valuable gems. Others derive their income from an inn where they charge for sleeping and eating. There are many passable places with neat decor, but the most famous inn in Kryxivia City is Atesgol Brewery Tavern.
It’s a spot where you can meet most warriors whose goal is nothing but glory and riches torn from the Mines’ embrace. They eat expensive meat dishes and drink delicious and well-known brewery. The beer recipe has remained unchanged in the tavern for decades and comes from the owner’s grandfather, Bideven Atesgola. Ates, as his friends called him, not only produced the best brewery known to mankind, but he was the greatest sword-wielding warrior to ever enter the Mine. Nobody knows how his life ended. Some suspect he was caught and imprisoned by an unknown being in the Mine’s higher, less hot passages, where he was last seen alive.
Around the time he disappeared, returning warriors began talking about the monster hiding in the shadows cast by the sharp edges of the rock, silent and deadly writhes, chasing its victims. For a long time, no one knew what he looked like due to his speed and ability to hide in the dark. The mention of the monster can be read from a book with a purple cover lined with tiny gems.
“… as we passed through the crevice leading to the larger corridor, we heard something that made us all stand still. It was like a rock rolling at high speed. The echo disturbed our senses. Some looked up, others behind us, but no one knew where the thud came from. I saw shoes sticking out from behind a crack in the rock many feet away. Then I knew we were in great danger. The monster attacked us, and I saw purple eyes glittering in the darkness, moving at high speed. I ran away and left my companions. Fear, helplessness, and panic. I was the only one who survived… “
Legend has it that this monster is Ates, who was caught, cursed, and imprisoned in Kryxit. Over many years he was maturing inside the crystal, brewing like refined drinks he made. When the crystal shattered, the beast we call The Brewer of Atesgol was released.
